Pre-race routine:

Left home at 5:15 am with Shannon. Ate peanut butter bagel, strawberry smoothie, drank lots of water.

Had a moment of panic in the 1st 100. Felt nauseated and like I would hyperventilate. I focused on good breathing and form and pushed through.
What would you do differently?:

A little longer warm up, maybe. I think it was just nerves for my 1st race.

Ants were in my shoes. I felt much more relaxed when I got to T1
What would you do differently?:

I will look better for ant trails when I choose my transition spot! This added the time to T1 getting the ants out of my shoes. Also, I did not need the gloves that I took the time to put on - that would have saved time too.

I was tentative on many of the turns. I attribute this to not riding the course and my crash the week before.
What would you do differently?:

Push a little harder on the bike. Practice more on jumping on and off the bike at the beginning and end.

I enjoyed this race a lot - I think it was a good race to have as my first one. I am now hooked on triathlon. I can't wait for the next one!
