Run
Comments: I had done a 3hr brick session the day before the race, so I really wasn't expecting much in terms of doing well i this race. However, race day jitters go a long way towards a good time. I would have been happy with 2:10 so I was very happy with 1:55:09. I started towards the front and got passed a lot in the first couple of miles (with a pace of 9:24 for the first 2.5 miles). I was able to step things up and ended up with a 8:53 10k pace and 8:48 pace overall. overall place was 728/3867. lots of non-runners in this, so i was able to get into the top 20%. What would you do differently?: this was part of my HIM training, so having a taper or at least rest day the day before would have likely helped. Post race
Warm down: grabbed snacks and went to the car to retrieve a jacket. I pushed hard in this race to the rest of the day was basically shot - napped, watched TV, and just laid around. What limited your ability to perform faster: training the day before the race. Event comments: Good race with nearly 8500 participants in the entire weekend. Well supported race with a large expo. End of race activities could have been a bit more interesting. Enjoyed the bands along the course! Last updated: 2017-01-20 12:00 AM

Woke up at 5:15 after not sleeping well. Had a bagel, some coffee, and got in the car.
None really. Maybe some very minor stretching.
