Swim
Comments: The race officials said that the buoys were wrongly placed...so the swim course was a little shorter than supposed to be. I got banged up making the turns. What would you do differently?: Need to work on sighting. Let the faster swimmers go first. Transition 1
Comments: My suit was stuck around my ankles. Should have used some PAM. Was trying to put socks and shoes on standing up. Saw guy next to me sit down and put his stuff on so I did the same...alot easier. What would you do differently?: Forgot to put some anti-rash stuff around neck and shoulders...got burn blisters. Need to spray myself with non-stick spray. Bike
Comments: I felt like I was flying through the bike leg. What would you do differently?: Need to switch to shoes and peddles. Transition 2
Run
Comments: Legs were stiff for first mile. Had to walk a few times. What would you do differently?: Need to do more leg strengthing exercises. Work on a longer stride. Need new sunglasses. Post race
Warm down: Stretched out after finishing. Took equipment back to car. Took a big "grumpy". What limited your ability to perform faster: Burning legs. Event comments: This was my first complete race. I competed in two other races as part of a relay team. Anyways, I placed 86 out of 153 atheletes. I'm happy with this, I guess. I'm a little disappointed in my first transition time. Jogged around parking lot for few minutes. Stretched out for 20 minutes. Had to go pee alot because I drank about 1 qt. of gatorade on the way to the race. Had a banana...won't do that again...I had upset stomach during the swim and bike phase.
Jumped in water and took some laps.
