Pre-race routine:

Stayed the night locally. Got dressed and headed toward race site. Had my chocolate shakeology about 1.5 hours before race start

Comments:

Started out too fast. Was in coral A and didn't want to get left to fight wind solo so I just went with the flow. First mile at 8:10, but felt good. Slowed a bit to 8:20 and kept an 8:20 average thru the first 7 miles, and then slowed. Don't think I got dehydrated and took my GU's as planned. My preseason goal was below 1:50:00 (8:20) by I adjusted my expectations based on some training fails (vacations ect). New goal was below 1:55:00
What would you do differently?:

A little more control at the front end may have resulted in a faster time

This is a great race. The volunteers were awesome. The weather was cool, rainy, and windy but they were out there on the course with a smile. I have done 3 OBSE events and they always do a good job!
