Total Time = 1h 40m 12s

Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 12/27
Pre-race routine:

Nutrition: 1 bagel with cinnamon cream cheese, 1 20oz LL gatoraide, 1 GU orange burst 30 prior to race plus 2 advil.
Event warmup:

Short jog and bike.
Swim
  • 14m 35s
  • 962 yards
  • 01m 31s / 100 yards
Comments:

Good overall swim, improved from a nearly 2:00min/100yd pace to 1:40 so very pleased.
What would you do differently?:

Tri to alternate breathing a little more to allow even better navigation.
Transition 1
  • 01m 55s
Comments:

Trouble clipping into shoes.
What would you do differently?:

Practice and remove the clipping in step and just go with shoes pre-clipped.
Bike
  • 51m 11s
  • 17 miles
  • 19.93 mile/hr
What would you do differently?:

Get a Tri-bike. Like last year, started off probably a little too conservative not wanting to put too much strain on hip which never really did happen even when going much harder on the back half.
Transition 2
  • 00m 50s
Run
  • 31m 43s
  • 4 miles
  • 07m 56s  min/mile
Comments:

I'm at about 1/2 the overall run mileage as of this time last year, yet my splits are better this year, go figure.
What would you do differently?:

Run, run, run.
Post race
Warm down:

Jumped into the lake.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Run and bike speeds.

Event comments:

Time for some R & R. Hometown race always good to finish on. Body was in borderline physcial shape for the race for a pes anserine bursitis right side and a greater trochater bursitis left side. Despite, had to do the race and glad I did.
