Swim
Comments: swim exit was tricky as it was on a floating dock, and volunteers were not exactly helping anyone up the ladders. pretty decent run from exit toT1 including stairs to get on top of the levee. What would you do differently?: I was pretty comfortable on the swim and probably could have pushed it a bit harder. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Hit my normalized power on the nose for 1 hr functional threshold. There were a few instances of blocking that I had to deal with, but did not have significant impact on overall pace What would you do differently?: Probably could have bumped avg power up by about 5-10 watts Transition 2
Comments: Fan club was pointing put the fact that they were already drinking. I got distracted and forgot race number. Going back from run out to retrieve cost me at least 15-20 sec. What would you do differently?: ignore my friends Run
Comments: Overall a pretty solid run. Felt like I had a little left in tank at finish, but not a ton. Post race
Warm down: Beer, Beer, Beer, Jambalaya, Beer What limited your ability to perform faster: More of a training race for me, and I really cruised at a mildly uncomfortable pace, rather than really digging in and pushing it Event comments: Louisiana Tri is a great locally produced sprint race in New Roads, LA. The only hitch I saw was that a number of the pint glasses they were giving out as finisher swag did not get delivered on time, and the later finishers needed to pick theirs up about a week post race. UPS sucks, not the RD's fault...despite the shortage of glasses, I think that this event probably has the best post race out there. Plenty of free beer and good food, plus this year the post race rolled right into a crawfish festival. Booyah! Last updated: 2017-05-18 12:00 AM

This race is local for me, so it is pretty much wake up, grab a few eggs and some oatmeal and drive 45min to race site. I threw in a little curve this time because my race Sherpa was also volunteering swim support for the race. Picking up her and her paddle board made for an extra early start, but it did secure "rockstar" parking about as close to swim start as you could possibly get.
150m easy swim out towards 1st turn buoy, said hello to a pretty girl on a paddle board, then back to swim start.
