Comments:

This event is a 5k fun run. I worked hard to pace myself; not go out too fast and end the end did have a little gas in the tank. I noticed after ~1 mile how comfortable my shoes felt. I smiled when I overheard a young person after ~1 mile in say how her feet were killing her. She had on brand new shoes ... [Julia Roberts voice] BIG MISTAKE!
What would you do differently?:

Simply more training

Lots of volunteers and neighborhood people cheering the racers on. The volunteers made it so easy to stay on course. Its my first tine doing this event. I did it with daughter, SIL and friends and we thoroughly enjoyed the event.
