Pre-race routine:

Up at 5:45

Walk Zoe, breakfast (cereal), lots of fluids since it was over 100 degrees yesterday and it was predicted to be 100 again today, got dressed (swimsuit under shorts and a t-shirt), packed my car for both the swim and the bike after. Left the house at around 6:30. Arrived on site at about 7:00. Went to packet pickup and then watched them set the buoys.

Gathered for the pre-race meeting, watched the first group go off, entered the water...

The 2-milers started at 8:00 and the 1-milers started at 8:05.
