Comments: Forgot to water to rinse the sand off of my feet. Had to suck water out of my aero bottle and spit onto my feet (that was a first). What would you do differently?: Water and towel for my feet. Bike

Comments: Was going at a sub-8 pace out of transition, legs felt great. A little more than 1/2 mile into the run I started having severe pain in my middle toe on my left foot. Turns out that on one of the decents I tore my toe nail in 1/2 and it was bent back and caught on my shoe. Pace slowed quite a bit and I even walked some. Finally got on a road for the last 1/2 mile and hit a sub-6 pace for a good part of it. What would you do differently?: Not break a toe nail. Post race

Drank a sugar-free energy drink and ate a cookie on the drive to the race site. Set up my transition, Used my Compex unit on my calves to try to loosen them up.
