Pre-race routine:

Lots of stretching. Ate one Cliff Bar and drank a bottle of water and some gatorade.
Event warmup:

More stretching. About 5 minutes of jogging, I felt great. Usually, I would extend the warm-up to about 10-15 minutes of jogging...

Comments:

Started out conservative. Really took off at mile 6 and started clipping off some good miles. Lost focus around mile 10, as the course went by the Colt building and the specatator crowd dwindled. Held on through mile 12, but couldn't finish as strong a I would have liked. Good crowd at the finish to bring me in the last 0.1 miles. :)

Here are my splits.
Mile Splits:
1. 7:14 7:14
2. 7:03 14:17
3. 7:15 21:32
4. 7:17 28:49
5. 7:18 36:07
6. 7:15 43:22
7. 7:11 50:33
8. 6:50 57:23
9. 6:57 1:04:20
10. 7:02 1:11:22
11. 7:14 1:18:36
12. 7:08 1:25:44
13. 7:37 1:33:20
13.1 :41 1:34:01
What would you do differently?:

I would have waited until mile 7 (instead of 6) to make a move during the race. I also would have gotten a better position at the start. People were walking in front of me before I hit 100 meters. That is evident by the 30 seconds it took me to get to the starting line...
Post race
Warm down:

Um, a massage and a beer? Honestly, it was just that, as I didn't feel like moving too much after the race. My massage therapist was great (Thanks Amy!) and the beer was equally as satisfying.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I wore my training shoes, which in hindsight was a very good idea. I had a small blister on my big toe. I usually wear some distance racing flats, which would have helped 10-15 seconds a mile. Today (the day after) I'm very very sore, and my feet are absolutely killing me. I can't imagine how I'd feel if I wore my flats.

Event comments:

Beth Shluger puts on great races for CT. The Hartford Marathon was no exception. I have regularly participated in her previously races, and I will definitely run this one again. Entertainment, organization, signage, traffic direction, parking... all were top notch.
