Comments: Really had a bad time keeping a straight line. Could not get around anyone without spending too much energy or having to go around their other side. What would you do differently?: Probably get out to a safe distance on outside of course to avoid crashing into people Transition 1
Comments: Had trouble putting helmet and race belt on before being able to unrack and hit the road. Also, shoes would not let me slide in and hit the hill before I had my 2nd shoe on. What would you do differently?: Mentally run thru how to execute in T2 so I have a fresh game-plan in my head. Wasted too much time wondering if I had everything on before leaving. Bike
Comments: Did not have the extra gear(s) on this bike leg! I felt tired and overwhelmed by the course. Definitely feeling lack of training showing it's ugly head. Transition 2
Comments: T2 went off a lot better but still took my time and used the break to catch my breath Run
Comments: Felt sluggish still from the bike and never really recovered. Just felt flat on this race. Post race
Warm down: Lots of water, and fruit from post-race tent What limited your ability to perform faster: Not sure what to put this on, outside of lack of specific training. I felt flat the entire race and never snapped out of it. Event comments: While a lot of people like to rag on the Sommer Sports Clermont series, I think you get what you pay for and more. The race(s) is/are on schedule, transition is organized and safe, the course is well-known especially to drivers and residents, and you know what to expect coming in. In the age of overpriced and under-delivered races, this series is something you can definitely enjoy. Last updated: 2017-10-30 12:00 AM
