Run
Comments: Run went much better than expectd. I hadn't run further than 10 miles since March, and nothing longer than 6 miles in 3 months. No racing in a LOOOOONG time. I thought a 1:45 would be tough to do. I decided to not push it too hard, but start out comfortably hard and see how long I could hold on. Miles were consistenetly 7:40-7-:50, and last 3 miles were the same as my first 3 miles. I couldn't have run a more even pace. I made sure to never redline it, but I stayed just under it the whole way. Had a couple of miles left in the tank, too. Only had 1 gel at thome, and I could've used another, but this run went as well as I think it could have gone. And to break 1:40 was a huge bonus. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: Walked around, had a banana and a piece of pizza nad drove home What limited your ability to perform faster: lack of training Event comments: Great first time race.Well organized, on time, lots of drink stations and volunteers, good post race activities. They had more food than they needed. Great time of the year to run, it keeps you honest over Thanksgiving. beautiful weather this year. Course was closed to traffic. I've got nothing but positive things to say about this race and plan to make it a yearly race on my list. Last updated: 2017-11-26 12:00 AM
