Overall Rank = 6738/23922
Age Group = M 45-49
Age Group Rank = 747/2357
Pre-race routine:

Got dropped off at start about 1 hour before race. Since this was a training run (and really not any training prior), I wasn't worried
Event warmup:

None
Run
  • 4h 41m 59s
  • 26.2 miles
  • 10m 46s  min/mile
Comments:

No real training and first training run was just a 2 weeks prior so just took it pretty easy. Was doing walk/run to ensure I didn't get any injuries as I really wasn't in shape to race this marathon.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing really except keep in better shape for the rest of the year. I started my training for Dallas Marathon in December with this race.
Post race
Warm down:

None - walked to the shuttles

What limited your ability to perform faster:

No training prior

Event comments:

This race has makings of a major world level race if they can improve on a few things. One is due to the low entry cost, a lot of people use this as a supported training race for the fall marathons like Chicago or NYC and a lot of people don't run the full distance. A lot of locals start halfway or even less so they can get the medal (which is a 6-year series). This was my 2nd Mexico City Marathon in a row (so I have the letters "I" and "C" now with "O" on tap for next year (all the medals in series spell "MEXICO")
