Swim
Comments: Overall I was very pleased with my swim. I placed myself in the right timing group and actually passed a person in front of me...I was hoping for under 11 min and was under 10 even with the long run to T1 What would you do differently?: I was worried about starting off to fast and not being able to finish strong - so I just swam my normal lap pace and didn't really push myself too hard. Just wanted to get through it!! and I did! Lots of room to improve in the swim Transition 1
Comments: the T1 run from the building was hella far - barefoot, across the outdoor track. I let 2 girls moving slow get in my way and block me for a moment. should not have been so nice. Didn't run as fast as I could have. was pretty slow in transition. put socks on. put gloves on, helmet and sunglass... What would you do differently?: go faster! not be so nice to those in my way. don't wear sock or bike gloves Bike
What would you do differently?: go without socks or gloves. train for the hills!! but I still thought I did great on the bike all things considered, but it made my legs like jello for for the run Transition 2
Comments: pretty good for first event. gloves gave me a hassle - won't wear again. otherwise pretty good. long run back out of T2 to run and I felt like a slug What would you do differently?: no gloves, maybe no socks. will need to train for that. maybe try to take feet out of shoes ahead of time? Run
Comments: hardest part by far was the run after the hilly bike - didn't train enough for this either. What would you do differently?: next time I'll know the run isn't actually over 3 miles...so I can pace better. Post race
Event comments: This is the only event I've done and I thought it was great. Maybe a little hilly for newbies that aren't ready for it - but overall highly recommend it and LOVED the indoor swim! Last updated: 2018-05-12 12:00 AM

Woke up at 3 am and couldn't get back to sleep. Finally just got up and went down at 5 am when they opened for the day. Got a closer/great parking spot and just slowly got myself ready to go in the transition area.
Didn't do too much - did a quick ride on the bike to make sure my gears were set for the slightly up hill start. But really - it was an indoor swim and I placed myself in the 9-10 minute swim range and didn't actually start until close to 8am (sat for an hour and waited)
