Comments: The water was warm and comfortable and I was glad to hold my own with the time I reported in finishing. What would you do differently?: push a little harder - such a short distance! Transition 1
Comments: I need to learn how to get into my shoes while riding - brand new bike What would you do differently?: I stood contemplating a sweater while two people came back and left! Don't do that. LOL Bike
Comments: I had a great time. I was surprised to hit 38 on such a hilly, curvey race. What would you do differently?: push harder perhaps Transition 2
Comments: I completely forgot to just take my feet out of the shoes and run alongside the bike. Will have to check with coach to see if that's what I'm even supposed to do? Felt like my shoes would drag... Run
Comments: I kept a nice rhythm even when I was doubtful about doing well. I began to see younger folks walking and giving up left and right. I'm glad I kept moving! What would you do differently?: Not much, I feel pretty good about this run. Post race
Warm down: Chatted with and met Linda Spooner who will also be headed to Denmark on Team USA with me! What limited your ability to perform faster: No taper before possibly, and no promise of rest after - but I was granted a day off afterall! Event comments: FIRM race events are fantastic. Go do one! I arrived quite early and was oddly relaxed the morning of and the night before the race. Perhaps that was because I walked 3 miles, ran 3 miles and biked 41.3 miles the day before - ha! This was technically a 'training race' for me, so that took some of the pressure off.
Anyway, I arrived plenty on time and got a primo parking spot about 10 feet from transition!!!
I jogged around the area, did some dynamic stretching, used the bathroom and jogged and walked in and out ot the transition area to familiarize myself with the ins-and-outs
