Swim
Comments: Slight panic moment at beginning, couldn't get rhythm. Focused on breathing and relaxing, then by 50m mark was able to swim smooth. 2nd half was smooth, worked on keeping my head down and sighting every 2nd or 3rd breath. What would you do differently?: Try some warmup swimming before start to get over the panicky moment. Transition 1
Comments: First time trying a running mount with shoes attached to bike, was successful. Best T1 yet. What would you do differently?: Did not put on gloves for this short race, might need to practice getting gloves on quickly. Bike
Comments: Went a little too hard at the beginning, had some stomach cramps so didn't drink as much as I should have. Slowed down a little for second half to prepare for run. What would you do differently?: Drink a little more and not go out so fast. Transition 2
Comments: Fastest transition ever, 5th fastest T2 overall. Setup shoes perfectly. Helmet off and hat on, wiped socks off briefly on towel then slipped shoes on. Forgot to take gummy container out of pocket so had to ditch it at the beginning of run. What would you do differently?: Wait a little longer to get out of shoes on bike, had to ride a little more than necessary with feet on top of shoes. Make sure pockets are empty. Run
Comments: Had some stomach cramping in second mile, so slowed down a bit to recover. Allowed me to have fast 3rd mile. What would you do differently?: Make use of the water stations a little better. Review the course map prior to race to ensure I know the course turns in case there aren't enough volunteers. Post race
Warm down: Nothing. What limited your ability to perform faster: Some stomach cramping on bike and run. Slight panic at beginning of swim. Event comments: This tri did not run last year (2017), so this year felt a little like they were starting over. They did not have enough volunteers this time to cover the entire bike and run courses some of the turns and intersections could have been missed. Also, for some reason, the awards ceremony started about 20 minutes later than it should have. Overall though it was pretty well organized and I'm glad Wet Dog is back. It is a fun, flat sprint with a calm open water swim that is great for introducing people to triathlon. Last updated: 2018-05-19 12:00 AM

Masaman chicken and white rice from Surin for dinner. Half a banana and ~4 oz of skratch green tea.
No warmup. Should have swam a little to prevent slight panic moment at beginning of swim.
