Run
Comments: Pretty solid run. I like to hold back a bit and try to keep the two runs fairly close in time. The muddy conditions definitely made it slower as well. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 1
Comments: Solid T1. Fumbled a bit with the helmet but not bad. Bike
Comments: Dogged it a bit here. I found myself in the lead early on, but was overtaken eventually. Just tried to keep the guy in sight and hoped to get him on the run. What would you do differently?: Not sure if it was the conditions, but I could've pushed harder here when I looked at the power numbers after the fact. Transition 2
Comments: Solid T2 What would you do differently?: Jacket got stuck on the watch, should've had that dealt with prior to getting off the bike. Run
Comments: Only a few seconds slower than the first run, so great pacing there. I was keeping an eye on the guy who was in the lead and felt like I was slowly reeling him in. When we came out of the trails and up to the finishing stretch on the park road, I thought I had a chance to get him so I dropped the hammer. I made the pass with about 100 meters to go and got to break the tape! Unfortunately someone from a later wave ended up with a faster time, so I was bumped to 2nd overall, but still pretty cool. What would you do differently?: Lost a shoe in the mud that I had to go back for... Post race
Warm down: Walked around and stretched a little. What limited your ability to perform faster: The conditions were a factor, as was my general attitude and motivation here. Event comments: I feel like it's never good weather here, which obviously isn't the organizer's fault. Otherwise I really like this local event. Last updated: 2018-06-25 12:00 AM

Really did not feel like going to the race given it was cold and raining. Sucked it up and went anyway though.
Took the bike out for a short spin, and also ran the start/finish of the run portion for a warm up.
