Pre-race routine:

After an hour drive, got there 2hours before start. Walk around, talked to people, gave tips to a couple of beginners , set up my gear, watched the start of the Oly.

Being only a 300 m swim, I thought I could go all out from the start but got out of breath quick quickly so I calmed down a bit and focused on my breathing and technique and it went really well

I had reckonned I could do the 16k in 30 minutes so was disappointed when I didn’t but I miscalculated and at 30k/h, which is my top race speed, it would have taken 32minutes. So not too bad, considering it was quite a tough course.

Only 3k so I just gave it almost all on the first half and all and more on the way back, as I had a strong runner behind me (who ran it over 2min faster than me).
