Swim
Comments: overall swim was really good. Garmin shows 4:44, so 2:22/100m, which is on point for me and my goals for HIM in a month. Getting out of the pool was a little rough, as it took two tries and I ended up banging my knee (still hurts two days later). Run to transition was longish, so the difference between the official swim time and garmin swim is pretty big What would you do differently?: nothing Transition 1
Comments: T1 was good. Everything went smoothly, even with all the grass stuck to my feet after the run from the pool. What would you do differently?: nothing Bike
Comments: Bike went really well for me. Very fast during the first 10 miles (which may have been slightly downhill, but then the uphill and the headwinds kicked in. Last 4 miles were rough. Forgot to hit garmin as entering T2, so not entirely sure what my last 4 mile split was What would you do differently?: hit the garmin!! Also, not drink quite so much, as my tummy was sloshy on the run. Transition 2
Comments: overall everything went smoothly. I need to get some speed laces--make things faster. What would you do differently?: remember to hit garmin Run
Comments: run went really well. tried to keep 3'/90"/90"/90" run/walk/run/walk pattern. Did pretty well, except for two times, once near the second aid station and once near the end. Extended the walks a little too long. Faster than training pace, but not by a lot What would you do differently?: not drink so much on the bike Post race
Warm down: jumped in the pool afte rputting all of my stuff away! That was awesome! What limited your ability to perform faster: weight, time able to train Event comments: This was a fun little local race with about 30 participants. It was a little pricey for the distance ($60 for a sprint), but the money goes to a local kids swim team, so okay, I'm willing to pay. Post-race food was pretty much non-existent, except they had the concession stand open where you could buy something. Eh...for $60 you should at least have something available after the race. The pool was open to cool down in, which was great. Took about 45 minutes to get the results in. Last updated: 2018-08-23 12:00 AM

Set up transition and wandered around a bit looking for a bike pump. Borrowed one from a couple who was parked next to me. Rode my bike a little to make sure the gears were smooth (knowing it was going to be hilly).
Swam 400m before, starting at about 15' out, but race was late
