Pre-race routine:

First time doing two events in a single day! Is there even a routine for this? I unzipped my wetsuit to my waist, bundled up in a towel, and tried to keep warm. Took in some calories and fluids, and cheered on the 1500m athletes.
Event warmup:

Swam halfway out to the first buoy during the formal warm up, then headed into line as soon as they called the ladies.
Swim
  • 58m 44s
  • 2250 meters
  • 02m 37s / 100 meters
Comments:

Three loops, including getting out of the water and running across a mat between loops. The hardest part is how rocky it is getting into the water.
I'm writing this about a month after the fact, and all I can really remember is the sun coming out during the last stretch toward the finish. My wetsuit felt comfortable, I didn't get jostled, and overall it was a really enjoyable time in the lake.

Event comments:

Love Racine Multisports! I did SwimFest last year, and I hope to make it a tradition. Maybe even do the 4500 next year?!?!
