Comments:

Started out with Chris for the first few miles. Opening 5k had some downhill getting to the path, then some slight false flat incline where I pulled back to 6:30 for a couple miles. Felt really good and decided to drop pace back down a little, leaving Chris behind. Kept picking off people as I cruised past the American Legion to the downhill section of the path towards Albany. Once off I just kept the pressure on and held strong to the finishing section along the Hudson, with a nice little kick to the finish.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, considering I had been more focused on biking than running recently, very happy with this result. Technically a PR but with the net downhill course, not really counting it.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around for a bit then got my free VIP massage.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing

Event comments:

For an inaugural race with this sized field and start line logistics, having only a short delay to start wasn't too bad. Would definitely do this one again.
