Pre-race routine:

Dad/Mary/Maury/Elle all came with me - we arrived with plenty of time to park and get racked into transition. Warmed up on the bike and run. Did not do the pre-race swim warmup. Stood around again waiting to start.

glad I went out and ran this course several times before the event. made me feel comfortable with what was coming and knowing where the hills were made all the difference.

The event has been cancelled after the 2018 year. won't get to try to improve my effort/times.

Course: they only have 2 sec between swimmers at the start and it got all bunched up. Had swimmers all over me hitting my feet and dragging me down. almost had my timing chip ripped off. Love this swim course, but hated it with the people around me.

Course: way more hills then I thought. as much as I practiced the bike course, I never did the run and was caught off by how hilly it was. thought I was gonna have to walk towards the end of the hills. but kept it going. it got hot fast on the run.
