Swim
Comments: First competitive OWS, felt good about whole swim. Finished ahead of expected time What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 1
Comments: Bike rack neighbor knocked all of my preset items off of my bike causing me to have to search for what went on next. Shirt stuck to wet body, couldn't find biking gloves, not a happy camper. What would you do differently?: I guess I will set all future transition on the ground and not on areo bars Bike
Comments: Biked well beyond what I expected. Very happy with bike results, however; may have paid a little too high of price on the run. Found a "friend" on the ride and the two of us pulled each other along, I passed him on hills, he passed me on down hills. What would you do differently?: Restrain a little more on some hills, save a little more energy for the run Transition 2
Comments: again dealing with thoughtless rack neighbor, pre-arranged items still messed up, should have been faster What would you do differently?: Different set up pre race Run
Comments: Bonked right out of transition.... legs didn't want to listen to commands. Legs felt much better after about two miles, made up a lot of time in last mile. What would you do differently?: More bricks, a little easier on the bike Post race
Warm down: More light stretching, ate some carbs to refule What limited your ability to perform faster: Conditioning, training.... Event comments: For my first triathlon this was the perfect distance. I learned a ton about myself and what to look for next time. I decided to do this race with just 4 weeks to prepare so my time was limited. I will definitely practice transitions more and assume the worst case in transition (which happened today). The water was clear, volunteers helpful, Budu timing with instant results, all in all a great race. Looking forward to next year. Last updated: 2019-07-06 12:00 AM
