Swim
Comments: Jumping off the riverboat to start was neat, but the distance was WAAAAAY too short. That being said, I felt like I swam very well. NAvigated well, kept it nice and smooth, and was just getting warmed up when it was time to get out. I was expecting a 24 min swim, and when I looked at saw just over 10 min, I felt shortchanged, as the swim is my best leg What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 1
Comments: Luckily we had a long run into T1, as I couldn’t get my wertsuit unzipped. I finally got the zipper and was out of it by the time I got to the bike What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: Good ride on the new bike. Never pushed too hard, but felt comfortable the whole way. I wanted to save something for the run Transition 2
Comments: Went well. Stood up while putting on shoes and socks and this helps save time Run
Comments: I was nervous about the run, as I crashed so bad last time. It was getting hot, and I told myself to start out slow nad speed up as I felt better. First 2 miles were right at 15 min. Slowed only through the water stops the whole way. Never walked. Definitely slowed the last2 miles were almost16 min, but a solid effort overall What would you do differently?: More fast training Post race
Warm down: Walked around expo for 10 min and then drove home What limited your ability to perform faster: Heat, lack of speed training Event comments: Good race, well organized. I don’t know what to say about the swim course being less than half of what it should’ve been. That was bad. The bike course is nice with no traffic. The run course sucks. Double out and back with no shade in late July. It’s asking for a heat stroke. Last updated: 2019-07-23 12:00 AM
