Event warmup:

none
Swim
  • 24m 4s
  • 1500 meters
  • 01m 36s / 100 meters
Comments:

Great swim. Started on the outside of the wave, and hit the first buoy with noone in sight. I navigated well across the river, aiming just high enough to hit the buiy without getting sucked downstream. Flew downstream, started catching the younger wave that started 3 min earlier. Navigated across the current well again, and then stayed near the shore to get back to T1. Never pushed it, and felt like I had plenty left
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Transition 1
  • 01m 48s
Comments:

Long run up to TI. I went down the wrong aisle, as they had moved the cones I was using to mark my spot. Suit stuck a bit. Probably could've saved 15 sec had I run adn really pushed to get out. Took my time, but didn't dawdle
What would you do differently?:

Mark my row better
Bike
  • 1h 06m 23s
  • 23.06 miles
  • 20.84 mile/hr
Comments:

Legs were still a bit dead from last weeks race, so I had planned on not pushing too hard, which I didn't. I got out of the water so quickly, I had noone in sight until I was 5 miles into the ride. First person passed me right after teh first turn around. Kept it steady/comfortable the whole way. Never red-lined. Could've definitely given more on the bike, but I wanted to leave something for the run
What would you do differently?:

no
Transition 2
  • 00m 59s
Comments:

went pretty smooth. socks stuck once, but nothing too bad
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Run
  • 46m 54s
  • 10 kms
  • 04m 41s  min/km
Comments:

Run went pretty well. I didn't push too hard early, knowing it was a long hot run. Walked up the big hill after mile 4, but ran the entire rest of the way. pretty steady, too
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Post race
Warm down:

sat in the river for a few minutes to cool off, which felt really good

What limited your ability to perform faster:

heat, lack of speed training

Event comments:

Great race. Good course, support, and post race activities were the best I've seen in awhile
