Comments: I did this last year and had forgotten how brutal the very long uphill slogs are over the 4 peaks e.g. first summit is 2 1/2 hrs unrelenting uphill from the start and for the first 35 km there is no flat running - it's either long ascents or equally long descents. What would you do differently?: Improve time taken in the aid stations to refill hydration systems. Post race
Warm down: Beer What limited your ability to perform faster: Slower on the long up-hills than last year. Need to work on improving aerobic capacity. Event comments: Spectacular mountain course.
