Run
Comments: Perfect day for it. Cool and sunny with no wind. Couldn't ask for better weather. Started near the front, should have started a little further up though. It was crowded the first 150 yards or so. And to the lady who started up front with her 8 year old daughter who wasn't racing and then proceeded to go at a 10 minute pace: you endangered your child and the other people on the course. Why on earth would you put a young child in a group of 200 adults who are jostling each other for position? Took it out a bit too fast for my current fitness level. I haven't really trained in the last few weeks so I should have held back a bit. I was fantasizing about taking just a short little walk break after the turnaround. I started to really fade around mile 3 and who pulls up next to me but Kam31 who proceeded to drag my butt almost the rest of the course before her big push at the end. THANK YOU! What would you do differently?: Not start as fast. warm up a bit more. Not go to sleep so late the night before. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: lack of training in the last few weeks, but I'm ok with it. I was busy, this race wasn't a high priority and I still ran a sub 7 minute pace. Coming in 4th in my AG will be a motivator in the future knowing that I have the ability to place 2nd or 3rd if I'm properly trained. Event comments: Put on by YellowJacket racing. Boots and Ellen always put on a great race. Their love for what they do is evident in every race. This was no exception. Last updated: 2006-09-05 12:00 AM

Woke up late, 8:00 (that's what happens when I go to sleep at 2:30). The race started at 9:00. Fortunately it was 3 miles up the road.
Had a coffee.
jogged/ran for about 8 minutes with a few pickups.
