Pre-race routine:

Rye crackers & cheese and coffee around 4:00, banana smoothie around 5:00 for a 6:30 race. Could have skipped the smoothie.
Event warmup:

Dashing to the port-a-potty.

Brought my amphipod and was glad of it. Chased Copper for the first two miles, then ran fast in case she was about to pass me (even though I knew she was no where near me.)

This was B.'s first race ever. He beat me by 3 minutes!
What would you do differently?:

This is my personal best to date, but I still wish I could drop another 3 minutes off it!

Event comments:

A fantastic club 5K, every Tuesday at the same location. I highly recommend it - a good time is had by all.

10:09, 10:34, 11:02 for splits. First half was 15:51, second half was 16:50. Max HR 187 (felt like throwing up) and avg was 181. Sprint avg was 184 for final minute.
Course: A lovely XC course with some hills.
