Run
Comments: Run went well. Tornadoes came through during the night, and the rain finally stopped on my drive to the race. Trails were in much better shape than I expected. Wet, but not sloppy. The knee didn't bother me at all until about mile 14, but everything hurt by then. Stayed at a comfortable pace the whole way, and felt like I was good until about mile 12.5 or so ,when I started to slwo down. The last 2 miles hurt, but they were also most ly uphill. My main goal was to come in under 3 hrs, which I made, but I was 12 min slower than last time I ran this, too. Good race, thoguh, lots of staops, good trail, well marked, and close to home. Good spread afterwards. Crappy medal and shirt, though. What would you do differently?: not run with a torn meniscus Post race
Warm down: ate a very good grilled cheese sandwich and soup. What limited your ability to perform faster: knee injury and no running in 2 weeks prior to the race Event comments: Great race to support the park. Great trails, lots of aid stations and volunteers, great post-race spread. Cheap medal and t-shirt, but a great race that I will continue to do. Last updated: 2021-12-06 12:00 AM

ate my oatmeal and banana and drove the 45 min to the race
walked down the 1/4 mile hill to the hotel, picked up pack, walked back up to the car to put it up and change shoes, walked back down and got to the start with 1 min to go before the gun
