Pre-race routine:

Breakfast at the hotel, then walked to the security check point. Really struggled with what to wear. Went with shorts and Underarmor top, with mittens and headband to shed when needed. Ended up being the right choice.
Event warmup:

Found the bathrooms, hung out in the warming tent as long as possible, and go myself situated in front of the 3 hour marker. Just before the gun tossed my sweater and sweat pants.

Comments:

Wasn’t sure what to expect, as this wasn’t an ideal training block (very abbreviated, got COVID 5.5 weeks ago), but extremely happy with the result. Plan was to hit halfway at 1:29:00 (only 2 seconds off) and see what I could do from there. Felt pretty good so got in with a fast group and eventually even pushed on past them. Things got pretty tough out by Manayunk, but just held on for dear life the rest of the way. Had absolutely nothing by the end. So so happy with and proud of today. (Perfect weather conditions didn’t hurt either!)
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, well paced and good strategy today.

Warm down:

Walked around the finisher area, collecting food and getting warm.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Already mentioned the less than ideal training, but as far as the actual race day, this was probably the ceiling of what I could've done.
