Swim
Comments: First open water swim sinc elast Fall, had little expectaions. Started off well, stayed in a straight line to the first buoy. Was starting to tire, so really focused on form and made the next turn and was feeling better. Started catching swimmers from other waves by then and it got a bit crowded. Kept veering off to the right, but was constantly passing people. Made the last turn, and was all over the place, but made it in feeling OK. I was hoping for a 13;30, so beat that by a full minute, and couldn't believe I was 5th overall What would you do differently?: practice more open water Transition 1
Comments: Tought getting wetsuit off. Then was trying to put on my jacket, but it kept getting stuck on my writts. Finally slung it off and went without it. Walked up the hill for 90% of hte way. Should've been 30 sec faster in T1, easily. Bike
Comments: Good effort. Felt like I kept it at race pace the whole way, but Npower was only 207, for an IF of 0.779. I thouhgt it would've been higher, although there were several long downhills, where I was cruising at 40mph. What would you do differently?: First ride on the race bike since last Fall, it was in need of a tuneup Transition 2
Comments: Went very smoothly. In and out quickly. NO issues. Run
Comments: Run went good, better than expected. Iwas hoping for 7:45 pace, adn hit itt and felt good. Only 1 walk break at the 2 mile mark for abou t15 sec, otherwise, would've been faster. What would you do differently?: Didn't do a single brick run in the leadup to the race. Should've done several Post race
Warm down: got cleaned up and drove home Event comments: Nice early season race. ‘No frills, but everything you need for a fun, low key tri. Last updated: 2022-05-10 12:00 AM
