Total Time = 1h 24m 47s
Overall Rank = 139/190
Age Group = M 60-64
Age Group Rank = 5/6
Pre-race routine:

Up around 5:30 for a couple pieces of toast. Pumped tires on bike and headed to site, about 25 minutes away.
Event warmup:

Minimal. Tough to warm up when you're waiting to jump into the pool.
Swim
  • 09m 22s
  • 300 meters
  • 03m 07s / 100 meters
Comments:

Much better swim than last week, because I didn't try to go the whole first length on 5 x 5 breathing. Did maybe 10 strokes at 5 x 5 then settled into a normal pattern.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing; pretty decent swim for me.
Transition 1
  • 03m 12s
Comments:

Little longer than normal, but due to the cold I had to take the time to shrug on a thermal bike jersey, then sit down on the curb to get my shoes on rather than tromping through the grass, and then pull on gloves.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Given all of the above, a pretty good T1.
Bike
  • 31m 25s
  • 9 miles
  • 17.19 mile/hr
Comments:

Took first loop generally easy, then pushed on second by performing five-minute harder intervals on a couple of minutes generally easy spinning.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing...pretty good bike leg.
Transition 2
  • 03m 25s
Comments:

Again, due to my area being in the wet grass, I didn't want to put my shoes on and have debris in them that'd bother me during the run. So I again sat on the curb to get my shoes on. Feet were like little blocks of ice.
What would you do differently?:

A little longer than I'd expect, even given the above, but not too bad.
Run
  • 37m 24s
  • 3.19 miles
  • 11m 43s  min/mile
Comments:

Actually a good run for me, these days, breaking a 12:00 mile. Had a plan, stuck to it. Still cannot understand how I ran the first mile as fast as I did. Miles 2 and 3 were more what I expected. Maybe not being able to feel my feet at the outset (due to the cold) - felt like I was running in clown shoes - is the way to go.
What would you do differently?:

Not a thing.
Post race
Event comments:

Solid event, if a little short, but that makes it a fun morning. Get in, do the race and blow it out, then go home.
