Run
Comments: Started out too fast trying to hang with 2nd place before we got to the real climbing around mile 1.5. Did my best on this uphill section, with some brief walking on the extra steep spots. Coming off the summit was tricky, as the rock faces were super slippery. After that though, the technical downhill section was a ton of fun. Took some risks but stayed within myself. Was pretty much all alone around the lake, so not a lot of motivation to really go all out. The last climb up to the road was tough, but kept a decent effort. Hit the finish line totally drenched in sweat. What would you do differently?: Nothing, lots of fun. Post race
Warm down: Waited for Danielle to finish, then did a long cool down with a couple stops to chat and take a load from the cabin to car. What limited your ability to perform faster: Has no intention of being in race condition, legs were sore all weekend. Event comments: What a fun way to wrap up Trail Running Camp, had such a great weekend. Last updated: 2023-07-21 12:00 AM

Packed up the cabin (sad to be leaving Trail Running Camp!), then ate way too much breakfast while I pondered which race I would run. Seemed like the rain would stop for the race.
Once I decided on the Froggy Five, I knew I wanted 10 miles for the day so did a longer warm up than usual. Given the location, there weren't a lot of options for an easy warm up, so I ended up going down to the washed away bridge and back up, plus a cabin loop. This ended up being over 300 feet of gain - oops. A few strides a couple minutes before the start as well.
