Run
Comments: I wasn't sure what my legs would have after doing the Escarpment (again). Was kind of hoping I could just cruise to a low 18 and win. Spotted a speedy looking young guy with an Iona Track & Field shirt and knew that wasn't gonna happened. He started off super fast, but I matched him shoulder to shoulder to see what happened. First mile was hot, coming in at 5:21. I would've let him go, but he seemed to be breathing harder than me, so I hung on. About 1/2 mile later he started to crack and faded back. I kept pushing to make sure he didn't come back, knowing he would likely win a sprint finish on the track. My splits were positive, but I did enough to win by 34 seconds. What would you do differently?: Nothing, race strategy was to win, not PR, and that's exactly what I did. Post race
Warm down: 2 mile CD with Danielle, who also won! What limited your ability to perform faster: Escarpment Event comments: Really fun event for a great cause. Won some local Maple Syrup which was exciting. Last updated: 2023-08-07 12:00 AM

1.75 miles easy with a couple pickups, then strides and a few drills. Legs still carrying fatigue from the Escarpment Run 4 days ago.
