Swim
Comments: Solid swim, considering training has been subpar. Can't say I was too unhappy it ended up being short. Only lost to one person, a female who passed me despite starting in the second wave. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 1
Comments: Solid transition, no issues Bike
Comments: Rode myself into first place fairly early on. I was cold so pushing the effort helped warm me up. Surprisingly high amount of elevation gain from all the rollers. A few were pretty steep. Having the sprint and half distance athletes on the same roads made it a little confusing, but less lonely. Unfortunately, the Olympic turn around spot wasn't set up yet when I got there, and I blew right through it. Realized it eventually and went back, adding maybe a mile total. Enough to drop me into second place temporarily. When I passed the guy he asked where I went haha. What would you do differently?: Not miss the turn around! Though they should have been set up. The parked van should've alerted me to it more I guess. Transition 2
Comments: Solid. Bike rack slots not big enough for my tires, so it eventually got tipped over while I was running. Poor Mayberry. Run
Comments: Really solid run here. Can't say I love running from the lead, hard to really push to the limit. After the turnaround, 2nd place was closer than I expected so that helped me pick it up. Some mild quad cramps in the last 2 miles, but not enough to cause major issues. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: Short cool down jog. The post race brunch was so fantastic. More races need to have awesome post race food! What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing Event comments: Typical Alpha Win race - small field, questionable organization (turnaround not set up), but a fun course and got lucky with good weather in mid September. Not calling this my Olympic Tri PR because the swim course really wasn't even close to 1500m. Post race brunch FTW. Last updated: 2023-11-01 12:00 AM

Late decision to do this race after not making it to Lake George this year. Drove down with Danielle the morning of.
Short run to open things up. Deep water start, so got to do a few strokes out to the start line. They actually started us 2 minutes early, I was still warming up near the line when the gun went off.
