Swim
Comments: A nice swim, took my time (because I still only have one speed anyway) and enjoyed looking at the nice blue sky everytime I took a breath. Found several feet to draft behind. A little surprised at the time, I thought I was faster due to drafting but I zig-zagged for 85m so I guess that's why... Transition 1
Comments: A nice and smooth T1 the way I like them, perfectly executed Bike
Comments: Tried to enjoy the ride too, which I did. I have more than one speed at this disciplin, contrary to the swim but I chose not to push, wanted to do “well” (relatively well) on the run. Still, better than my goal time, can’t ask for more Transition 2
Comments: Nothing to report, a good T2 Run
Comments: Been struggling with the run all season so goal was under one hour and enjoy. I did enjoy it, but fell short on time. Not by much and an improvement over 2021 so I’ll take that as a win Post race
Warm down: A quick massage (calves) which felt great. Achilles is almost good now. Was really really tired after, headache, nausea, like never before. Had a nap in the afternoon and to bed early. Felt great the next day . What limited your ability to perform faster: Same answer as all season, slightly overweight, injury issues. This season hasn’t gone well. Roll on 2025! Event comments: Great little race. Still struggling to get many participants but it looks like they’ve decided to keep going. Last updated: 2024-09-03 12:00 AM

Office annual golf tournament on the Friday morning (which I won) and far too much food and beer (non alcoholic) in the evening.
, had breakfast even though I was still full from last night. Back on site at 9am
Did this in 2h50 something last year. I knew I would be nowhere near a result like that this year.
Goal was to beat 2021, my first oly (3:06:15)
Stretch goal: under 3 hours
But main goal was to finish and enjoy it.
Proper warm up like last time, jog, stretch, swim
