Comments: Started way to hard. All the excitement and the guy offering $100 to beat him (he got 2nd) He went 37 last year, which I can do. I don't know how fast I was going but I was in front. 500 yards into it I was wasted tired, like not going to make it tired. Took five minutes of super easy swimming and a stroke or two on my back to calm down and get my heart together. Then I was okay and caught some people who passed me while I was drowning What would you do differently?: Dont sprint at the start. At Alcatraz it was hard to work my way through all of the people after the start. Didn't want that to happen today. Sprinting at the start was a bad plan. I am not new to this and should have let off sooner but didn't feel it until it was too late. Worried about finishing I was so gassed Post race
