Swim
Comments: 5 swimmers in the lane - 3 of us had a fairly equal pace with the other 2 much slower. Lapped the slower swimmers twice - Overall, I think I could have been around 8:30 with the lane to myself. What would you do differently?: Swim with faster swimmers or maybe try the 'fast lane' if I can get my time below 8:00 minutes and my flip turns down. Transition 1
Comments: Real good transition for me. Julia thought I was crazy when I tried to put on riding gloves. As a result, I threw them at her on my way out. Bike
Comments: Didn't feel like I left anything on the table. Julia wanted my time around 35 minutes - I wasn't close. What would you do differently?: Use a Motor. If that's not allowed, how about a Tri-Bike (Birthday Hint) Transition 2
Comments: Had trouble getting my number belt on. Took the long way out of transition to run by Julia, Alex and Max (my cheering section) Run
Comments: I just couldn't seem to get going. I felt similar at the Surf and Turf - pretty much the same time. What would you do differently?: Just keep trying. Post race
Warm down: Chipotle and gatorade Event comments: Great first Tri for me! Good to see Melanie out there for her first Tri in 10 or so years. Also ran into Dan and Mark's wife Michelle. Cool to see some familiar faces. Last updated: 2006-09-09 12:00 AM

Up at 4:30 to get Melanie. Watched her race (she was the first finisher). Julia showed up before I started. Had 2 Hammer gels and a marathon bar. Got the shakes (won't do that again).
Cheered on Melanie. Did a 15 minute run while she was on the bike course and a 5 minute swim just before the start. Julia and the boys showed up to cheer me on.
