Run
Comments: Wanted to pace basically 8:30s, which I managed for the first mile (8:22) and then didn't on the second (8:46, but there's a turnaround so you lose a couple of seconds there, and it's the hardest mile), then started to fall apart a little on the third (8:50), and had a good finish around 7:00 pace the final 0.1. HR was red-lined by the end - I gave it all but my legs definitely didn't have the snap they did three months ago. What would you do differently?: Not almost break my ankle three months ago. Honestly this was about what I expected given my lack of running lately. Post race

"Return to the Scene of the Crime"
I just started a bike build, and week 3 has a bunch of fitness tests so might as well add a 5K baseline to the mix. 11 weeks ago I ran this race and (the course attacked me) rolled my ankle pretty badly, ending my tri season and putting me on the shelf running for a while, so I've lost some fitness. Hoping for low 26s, but this is test #3 of the week so I don't know how much oomph I'll have left in the tank.
Drove down, did a mile warmup, some stretching, then a few sprints.
