Comments:

this is the first race I have done in about 8 years. the last time I did this specific race was 2010 and I crushed it. This race has kickstarted me back in gear to do more foot races and triathlon. hopefully I will have more race reports and progress in the near future.
What would you do differently?:

I have not been run training for the past few years. lately have just been swimming and walking.
trained more is always the answer to this one.

Warm down:

walked to Conoco tent and had Lupe Tortilla fajitas for lunch and a couple beers.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

not working out for the past few years

Event comments:

Overall the 10K course is great. between mile 5 and 6 the 5K race merges into the 10K racers. unfortunately by this time in the 5K most are walking. this made it very difficult to hold a good line and finish the race. right at the end the 5K and 10K split to cross their respective finish lines so that was nice.
