Run
Comments: I kept an eye on my Polar to see what my pace was. I was trying to maintain 7:30's. The course was pretty crowded for the first mile or so. After that I didn't have to worry about stepping on anybody's heels. My HR was in a decent range on the way out but it spiked towards the end. My legs felt good. I don't really like the shorter races so this was not my thing. I suppose I could have gone a little harder but my avg HR was pretty near my the top zone already (99%). (max was 111%) What would you do differently?: Get more sleep the night before. Post race
Warm down: Grabbed some water. Found the kids. Helped them pin on their numbers for the fun run. All my kids (and my S-I-L) were there for the fun run. Walked the fun run with my two year old in my arms two thirds of a mile. She walked beside me for the last third. What limited your ability to perform faster: Most of my running is longer distances so I am not used to an all out effort for 23 minutes. Event comments: Well run race! Got all the kids up trying not to wake up my wife. Drank coffee. Ate a Clif Bar on the way.
Picked up my timing chip. Herded the kids around.
