Swim
Comments: I started off wayyyyy to fast to get away from the flailing feet and arms so my first 200 was very fast but the rest of the swim wasn't what I practiced. Overall my time was okay though. What would you do differently?: Swim at my own pace for the entire swim. Transition 1
Comments: T1 would have been great if my bike didn't get stuck on the rack. To get it off I had to lower my seat. As I was pulling my bike out my chain hit the bike next to me's peddle which knocked my chain off. So what started as a good trans. turned into a bad one. What would you do differently?: Not get my bike stuck on the rack. Bike
Comments: I didn't push myself hard enough. What would you do differently?: Mark my seat so I know what height it is set at. I had to ride the race with my seat too high. Push myself more. Transition 2
Comments: The trans. went very well except I forgot my racebelt so I had to run back for it which cost me about 30 seconds. What would you do differently?: Next time I'll put my racebelt on in T1 and just turn it around for T2. Run
Comments: I paced myself pretty good and pushed just enough. Overall I'm fairly pleased with my run. I was shooting for about an 8.30 mile and missed it by about 15 sec. per mile. What would you do differently?: I'd like my run to be under 8 min/mile and that will just take a little more time. Post race
Warm down: Walked about 400 yrds to cool down. What limited your ability to perform faster: This was my first race so there was lots of learning going on here. My 5 year old mountain bike isn't doing my bike times any favors but I should have pushed harder. Event comments: I don't have any other tri's to compare it too but it seemed huge! Lot's of volunteers though and well marked. Competitors were polite but not very friendly. I had a blast over-all and spent the ride home thinking about how to do the next one faster. Prerace jitters got the best of me and I barely slept. Alarm went off at 4:30 and I'd been up for a while already. Ate a bagle and pb. and drank some Gatorade. Drove the 2 miles from the campground to the race area. I had dropped my bike off the night before so I just had to set up my trans. area.
Light stretching and thats about it.
