Swim
Comments: I had to let water out of my goggles 2 times which was a pain. I was quick though and did not lose a lot of time. What would you do differently?: Somehow adjust my goggles to fit better. Transition 1
Comments: I though tI had a prett good transition for my 1st one, but I should be able to knock off some seconds in the future. What would you do differently?: Eat gel and drink water when I am on the bike. Bike
Comments: I should eat gel and drink water while moving on the bike. The headwind was nnw @14 mph and made the first 76 miles a little slow, between 10-19 mph. The return trip I hooked up w/4 other guys and we hammered it the rest of the way home approx 28-29 mph for about 3-4 miles. Two of us were able to break away for the last 1.5 miles. It was very fun and there was an unspoken understanding of not drafting, but helping one another out. What would you do differently?: Get a tri bike. Transition 2
Comments: I almost slipped on the pavement when I came into the transition area. I spun for the last 100yards to get ready for the run. What would you do differently?: I ate the gel and drank when I was running. I just have to be a little faster and be able to recover for the run a little faster. Run
Comments: The 1st mile war about 7:59 and felt really sluggish. I felt the gel kick in and the legs loosen up @ the 1 mile mark and really picked it up. I had a small shot of carbo pro/water/red bull that I had at the 1/2 way point and I realy picked it up again. That was about as fast as I could go considering where I am in my training. I wanted to run ablut 7:30/mile and I beat that goal. What would you do differently?: Justy keep working on my run speed. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, drank water and ate a bagel. What limited your ability to perform faster: I just need to get better. That just means building a stronger, faster engine which will come w/time. Event comments: This was a great experience and I really enjoyed it. The people were nice and sociable and the race was very competitive. Everyone I passed on the bike was very courtious and made a lane for me. I felt like I really got a feel for how tris work and the way one is suppopsed to transition and set up their areas. I look forward to the next one. With continued work I believe that I can do a lot better and be very competitive. Last updated: 2006-09-18 12:00 AM

Woke up @ 5:15 and had a bagel. Pumped up tires, met w/ Mr. Grumpy and rode my bike to the site approx. 6:20.
Got checked in, set up transition site, stretched, drank carbo-pro/water/red bull mix. I felt really relaxed and ate a gel on the way down to the swim start. I watched a lot of swimmers not judge the cuttent or sandbars right and they looked like they were doing a lot of extra work. Picked my swim out site and waited to race.
