Swim
Comments: Best leg of the Triathlon for me this time around although If elt as if I could have pushed it harder. Technique: Breath every other stroke; I had to concentrate not take in mouthfuls of salt water. [Unfortunatly I didn't beat my boyfriend- I guess he wanted to win the race]. Great swim for my first time in the ocean! I was able to draft 40% of the time. Eventually I ran into the yellow wave that started 3 minutes ahead. This slowed me down; I had to swim over and around about 15 people; I may have been in top ten women out of the water from my wave. What would you do differently?: swim straighter; more sighting Transition 1
Comments: I had trouble with the wetsuit. It came off easily but it took my shorts off with it. After that I had trouble getting into socks and shoes. Bike
Comments: Worst leg of the race for me; I think it is about time to get those Aero bars; I never saw anyone in my age group after I got out of the water so I didn't puch myself hard enough. What would you do differently?: Try harder; heart rate was very high in the begining but I let it slow by the end; I am confident more biking will improve my run; Transition 2
Comments: Hamstrings stiff coming off the bike; My arms were not sore after this triathlon from riding in the drops What would you do differently?: easier on/off with running shoes Run
Comments: TSaw Andrew on his way in to win the race around the .5 mile mark. [Met goal to start the run before the winner finished.] I felt bad the first mile, but I was feeling good by mile 3; I wish I had picked it up earlier. What would you do differently?: This was a hard and I think slow run course compared to other courses I have run. Regardless - I think I should be running under 50 minutes. Preferably 47-48. I think improving my bike will go a long way to improve my run since I was pretty sore coming off the bike. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Felt very sick with stomach bug in the week before the race; I felt ok during the race. It was the before and after that was hard. Event comments: Good race with beautiful weather; Lots of Volunteers!; Good turn out at awards! Last updated: 2006-09-18 12:00 AM

Stayed overnight at homestay in S. Berwick, ME with Anita and Bob. Got up at 5am, was showered and out the door by 5:30am. Andrew accidently made Coffee with salt instead of sugar in the morning then had me take the first sip in the car. Lol. Breakfast half a plain bagel toasted with peanut butter [chewed slowly] and half of a medium D&D coffee with cream and sugar. Pasta the night before.
Andrew had two Ensures; D&D Coffee; and the other half of my bagel.
Registered when we arrived at 6:45am; Warm up: walking around to try to figure out the transitions & lots of stretching
