Swim
Comments: Horrible swim, if anything could have gone wrong, everything did. Started out with the mid set of letting everyone go and not try and get caught up in all the BS with the mob. Let everyone go and ended up swimming two strokes and was ontop of everyone. Had a hard time getting into a rhythm at all. Goggles started to fill up with water and I was trying to site with a hard time at that too. Started to get off course and made the turn back around. Came back and was starting to feel sick. I would come up to catch my breathe and just felt like total crap. I ended up getting "sick" and didn't really have anything in me so it was more of a total dry heave. Got to be around (370ish) meters left in the swim and just gave up. Didn't feel like killing myself and everything in my body was getting tired. I figured why try and kill myself. Ended up swimming over to the rescue boat and got picked up. Went into the EMT tent where they took my chip. Frustrated with myself I made the dissapointing walk back to my family (Aunt, Mom, Cousin, girlfriend, and Brother). To my surprise my friend also quit but a lot earlier. While in the EMT tent the lady told me I could do the rest of the course just not get a time. So I said F'it and lets go out and have some fun. Ended up doing really well on the bike course for having a lot of my training in the flat lands. What would you do differently?: Swim more, get used to OWS. Definately freaked me out big time. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Bike went well for even the fact of me being "out" of the race. Just went out and tried to do my best, but still have fun and cheer everyone on. What would you do differently?: Maybe stick through the swim and do the whole thing. Transition 2
Run
Comments: Wow... ummm wow. Now I trained on the course I mean lake laps so I was used to the little hills, but not for the hills outside the course. Got frustrated as my legs were not up to par at all with the run. My Quads started seize up during the run and made it so walking wasn't comfortable. Post race
Warm down: Met up with the family, got the stupid "finishers" medal (which I might just throw away) and went to breakfast/lunch What limited your ability to perform faster: The run mainly, swim I could have fought through more but at the time, I just gave up. Event comments: Very wonderful race, great volunteers along all parts of the course. I thank them very much. Last updated: 2006-09-18 12:00 AM

Woke up around 4:15am and got some food in me. Relaxed for a bit and packed the car to make the trip with Mom and little brother.
Fixed up my transition and talked with my cousin who was in the Expert/open field.
