Swim
Comments: Best Navigation I have ever done. I seem to have solved my crooked swimming issues more or less. The high altitude left me gasping when I looked up to sight. What would you do differently?: sighted less frequently. Transition 1
Comments: Becuase the air temp was below freezing my feet and hands were completely numb by the time I reached T1. This made my efforts to change out of suit very uncoordinated What would you do differently?: Extra towel to dry off Bike
Comments: Feet and hands went completely numb from freezing temps. Bottles froze while bike was racked making drinking difficult. Breathing and HR were managed. Steepness and size of hill my biggest challenge. I could have went faster on downhill but numbness made me less confident on descent What would you do differently?: bring Appropriate clothing. Transition 2
Comments: I think I did very well consdiering my feet were completely numb. I put on shoes while standing and started running right away What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: Feeling did not come back into feet until after first mile. Cold and climb on bike made my achilles so tight it was very painful to run and I could not get a full stride. At this point temps are about 45 degrees What would you do differently?: appropriate clothing for bike segment may have prevented soreness in legs Post race
Warm down: none What limited your ability to perform faster: Below freezing temps and innapropriate clothing Event comments: People at check were rude to me whenh I asked for an extra swim cap. They changed my start time that morning and then ended up starting the race late anyway. Good food and music at post race. Last updated: 2006-09-19 12:00 AM
