Swim
Comments: the crowd wasn't too bad, as I started outside. It was weird to see people's white feet in the murky ocean water. Not too much grabbing or kicking... sorry to the person I kicked! What would you do differently?: train train train! stroke clinic. Get my own swimming wetsuit (sleeveless) Transition 1
Comments: went better then I thought - jumped in my neighbor's tray of water to wash off my feet. Ooops! Screwed up my shoe laces... What would you do differently?: elastic shoe laces, bring my own tray of water Bike
Comments: the bike was the funnest portion - it was quiet, the roads were closed, it was a beautiful day - just listening to the other racers, the gears shifting, the whizzing of the tires - great! What would you do differently?: Not get distracted by the beauty of the moment. shift gears better, no coasting, push myself harder Transition 2
Comments: quick! What would you do differently?: get better bike shoes (rode with my running shoes) Run
Comments: quick quick quick - those concrete bike paths are very fast and smooth. Passed alot of folks (made me feel good and like calling out "go, you can do it! to each and everyone). think I called out "on your left/right" alot - I sure didn't want anyone in my way. What would you do differently?: Push my self harder. Train differently, doing more sprints. Post race
Warm down: forgot to stretch I was on such a high. My kids showed up and so i hung with them for awhile. forgot my Isopure protein juice (LOVE that stuff) so grabbed an apple and lots of water. Watched the awards (was 10 min out of 3rd place medals) and heard alot of great stories. What limited your ability to perform faster: Poor training, stress (1st race jitters) Event comments: AWESOME race for beginners. Expo day prior was weak - could use more STUFF. had a DJ at the finish line, would have loved one at the 2.5 mile point on the run! rumour is some folks want to make this charity event a PRO race. Just say no! Last updated: 2006-09-25 12:00 AM

forgot my earplugs in the transition area! had to run 1/2 mile back and forth to get them. Cereal for bkfast at 2hrs prior to race.
