Swim
Comments: Strong surf at start. One or two waves threw me backwards, but finally got out. Big swell and kept getting mouthfuls of water - did mostly breast stroke. Noticed water was cold while swimming mostly in my arms. What would you do differently?: DOLPHIN and body surf in Transition 1
Comments: Tried elastic shoelaces, but still they slowed me down. Socks got stuck. What would you do differently?: Look into the whole bike shoe thing. Bike
Comments: I think I cut a few minutes off my last Tri bike time - but course was 1 mile shorter. What would you do differently?: Feel I can still push harder and work on gearing. Transition 2
Comments: jammed my bike while racking it. What would you do differently?: Ok as is. Run
Comments: didn't do my final sprint as usual - thought I was pushing myself more during the final mile. Finish line was in the sand - a suprise after running on the bikepath and I think dangerous change of surface. What would you do differently?: Push more - better training. My time was 4 sec slower then LB - UGH Post race
Warm down: didn't - on a post race high. Drank a bottle of Isopure protein juice - LOVE THAT STUFF What limited your ability to perform faster: training and mind Event comments: I think they could improve the bike course by limiting some parking and the run course by setting up the entrance better (see notes above). Also would like more info on the website prior to race (age division detail) Last updated: 2006-09-25 12:00 AM

Probably not enough training - took several days off 2 weeks prior.
the anticipation level is alot lower then my first Tri so it's not carrying me in the same way. My r. shoulder is tweaked a bit. Have added short sprints to my run workout, did the race swim clinic (100 folks showed up) and learned about dolphining. Anticipate strong surf.
Race day: woke up at 4:45, downed some cereal and water. Arr at 5:30am transition area already open. bike rack right next to bike start. Tested the hill at the start of the bike to check for gearing.
Short hills on the bike course start and a sprint on the sand. Got wet and boy that first shock was cold! Dropped my 1st ear plug in the sand - ugh and had powerful dry mouth.
