Bike
Comments: I felt amazingly good at the start of the hill which was 25 mi. in. I charged the hill and passed hundreds. I was only passed by 2 others. From there on I picked up the pace a lot and charged. I think I was timid at the start which is why I started further back in the pack at a slower pace. What would you do differently?: I would start further up in the pack and try and set a fast pace from the beginning. I would go for a warmup. Post race
Warm down: Walk the bike a little, and drink beer. What limited your ability to perform faster: Mentally, I wasnt sure of myself at the start. Event comments: Very fun race. Beautiful location. Lots of characters to ride with. Too crowded. Last updated: 2006-09-26 12:00 AM

Unfortunately, I planned this one a little late, so pre-race routine meant going to Vons at 7AM and eating in the car as I drove to Mexico. I did get a good night sleep the 2 nights before though.
Cycle to the start which was insanely crowded, find my own little spot, and do a couple stretches. It was not easy to find room to actually go for a little ride and stretch.
