Comments:

Felt GREAT about the swim. Thought I was doing really, really well. Passed a lot of different coloured caps, but did hit a lot of traffic. Got in jams with a couple groups of folks swiming breast stroke-delayed trying to pass them.
What would you do differently?:

Practice the LONG run up the beach to the first transition point.

Tough ride. I kept looking for friends, did not remove inside lid from gatorade bottle and refused to stop and fix the problem. Therefore I didn't drink during the entire ride. NOT GOOD.

Be better prepared.

Took extra time during this transition trying to hydrate. Very, very thirsty from bike ride. Was talking with someone else before I realized they were already finished with entire thing.
What would you do differently?:

Prep better-don't talk to anyone.

Very hard, very tired, very thirsty. I didn't do this part well. Had some breathing issues, ended up walking a good portion of this segment.
What would you do differently?:

Prep better and hydrate during bike ride. I think that really affected everything else.

Warm down:

Didn't really cool down. But I didn't experience DOMs at all. I still should've warmed-down.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I didn't hydrate at all until the 2nd transition. NOT GOOD.

Event comments:

I enjoyed it. What I didn't enjoy was my own fault. I will enjoy it more next year, now that I have a better idea of what to do. This was my first race.
